Our training development structure has been honed and perfected over the years. But we know that everyone is different, which is why it’s also flexible enough to adapt to your individual role and needs. Whether you’re looking to grow in your role, or going for a promotion, we have the learning experience for you.

On-the-job training

You’ll be partnered with a talented and accredited “buddy” to support and encourage organic learning day-to-day, plus ensure you have plenty of opportunities to apply your formal training.

Skills Training

When passion and skill work together, great things happen. That’s why we offer a variety of accredited courses for those looking to gain recognised skills and qualifications, whether you’re experienced in the sector or just starting out.

Management & Development Programmes

Developing your talent is a key part of moving our business forward. From our bespoke leadership development courses to interactive expert led webinars, plus a suite of online training resources available through our eLearning platform, whatever your learning style, if you have the desire to develop, we have the tools to help.

Online Training

Our “Learning Locker” is the hub for all training activity. It houses a suite of over 200 online eLearning lessons, support materials, assignments and is your booking gateway to in person or online training events. Use it to track and monitor your training progress while learning at your own pace.

Step Up Programmes

Step Up Programmes

Step Up - One of the things we’re proudest of is our Step Up programme, which helps Team Members to keep moving forward in their careers.

Step Up to HOD is aimed at those looking to progress to a Head of Department role. Supported by key operational managers, this programme provides candidates with the skills and practical experience to help set them up for success. From coaching and leadership to commerciality, you can even gain an advanced apprenticeship as part of your development.

Step Up to GM is our development programme for General Managers of the future. The programme is made up of workshops, workplace learning and coach and mentor support. With 80% of candidates progressing to a General Managers role, it’s a proven success. During the programme, Managers gain enhanced leadership, self-awareness and development skills along with learning how to utilise their commercial acumen, understand resilience and support change management within our evolving business.

We believe that leaders should never stop learning. Our 12-month Leadership Development Programme has been designed to help our Managers maximise their individual strengths while developing further leadership knowledge and capability.

Internal Sales Training

Internal Sales Training

Sales is about more than pushing membership packages. It’s about understanding the difference a David Lloyd Clubs Membership can make to people’s lives. All of our Sales Consultants and Sales Managers undergo an intense 2-week induction giving them the right tools to hit sales targets and key performance indicators right from the off. And with frequent workshops and development throughout your career, you’ll be continually upskilled for your current and future roles.
